hat better way to get up close and personal with Furniture Village’s Autumn Winter collections than to head to one of the 56 stores to see the products in real life? That’s exactly what I had the chance to do when I headed to a Furniture Village store to pick out my favourite pieces and create the perfect living room set up, right there on the showroom floor!

As soon as you step through the doors, you know you’re going to be spoilt for choice when it comes to products. As well as larger furniturepieces from sofas to sideboards, there’s a huge selection of lighting, soft furnishings and accessories, with friendly staff on-hand if you need help and advice on pulling your look together.
For a calm and restful living space, banishing clutter is a must, which is why good storage pieces should be a must in your set up. A perfect scheme combines both clsed storage options – we picked a statement sideboard, and then complemented that with an open shelving unit to provide space for curated displays.
If you find pulling a scheme together tricky, choosing pieces from the same range is a really easy way to get a designer-style look yourself. I picked out a matching coffee table and side table that have a contemporary stone-effect surface, and the dark wood-effect finish ties in with the other furniture pieces in the room.
Once you’ve nailed the big pieces, you can have fun dressing your space. A rug will add colour, pattern and texture. There were so many gorgeous designs in-store, but the Kusa’s abstract designs and luxe feel stood out. At least when it comes to cushions you don’t have to narrow it down to just one! Use a selection and layer up different shades, and materials. We used plains, patterns and lots of tactile finishes to add depth and character to the sofa.
Last but not least, finish off your look with the perfect accessories. I carried gold accents across the space, with lamps in a gold finish, and gold detailing on accessories like statement trays and bowls. These will bounce light around the space for a glowing hit of autumn glamour.

When I was styling up our perfect autumn living room in a light-filled corner of the store, a gorgeous muted blue sofa was my starting point. I love a corner sofa because it’s a great way
to zone an area, particularly in a larger open-plan space (ideal if you’re working with a dual-purpose room). A warm blue is an autumn mood winner that adds interest without feeling too overpowering. Plus it’s a versatile shade – warm and cosy in the colder months, but will feel fresh come spring
With a huge range of lighting options in-store, it was easy to find something to suit our space. Lighting is so key when it comes to creating a cosy vibe for autumn, and I like to mix up different lighting sources to introduce overlapping pools of light. This elevates the mood and look in the room, and also means you can change it up depending on how you’re using it – whether you’re planning to snuggle up on the sofa for a night in front of the TV, or you’re entertaining guests for a fun evening in.
