Upon its release a century ago, the Cartier Trinity ring redrew the parameters of traditional jewellery design. Designed in 1924 by Louis Cartier, the ring eschewed fussy codes, instead encompassing a clean silhouette composed of three intertwined bands, one each of yellow gold, rose gold and platinum. Its anniversary is one Cartier has marked in style, with celebrations around the globe underscoring Trinity’s cultural and design impact.
Having kicked off events with parties in New York, London, and Paris, the house followed with experiences in Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo, and closed out the year-long celebration with an immersive pop-up in Miami’s Design District from 4-8 December 2024.

Exploring the history of the Trinity collection, this final exhibition is composed of five spaces, each of which examines one strand of its story. Visitors will discover the Trinity in context, from the cultural interest ignited by artist Jean Cocteau’s love of the collection – so enamoured was he that he wore Trinity rings double-stacked on his pinky in the 1930s – to a nod to the collection’s place in pop culture. Visitors are also invited to explore the significance of the number three itself, and how it has become synonymous with Cartier design throughout the house’s history.

Elsewhere, other icons of Cartier design go under the spotlight, with a showcase of jewellery and objects from the Cartier Collection, an expertly curated family of over 3,000 exceptional pieces. There is also a close look at the gold used in the Trinity collection, as well as a chance to try on the pieces themselves.Cartier is further marking the centenary with a freshly considered interpretation of the collection, releasing a new series of Trinity pieces. Five new iterations riff on classic Cartier codes for a playful take on iconic jewellery, with animal motifs intertwined throughout in a nod to the house’s distinctive aesthetic. Here, the panther, tiger and snake are playfully rethought in precious materials, with new pieces including a single earring and a two-finger ring, launched exclusively now in North America on Cartier.com, and to be released globally on 1 February 2025.
